The revised Cleveland and Ohio Economic Data Book from Central National Bank documents Clermont County gains in buying income and population. In 1962 per household buying income reached 6451 dollars, up from 5177 in 1960 and 4471 in 1955, with 24 000 households in 1962.
County commissioners approve Engineer Carl H Rush cost estimate 285153 for resurfacing 69.4 miles of roads advertising for bids bids due 10 am June 5. The plan covers 52 roads across the county including Bethel New Richmond Arcadia TayLor Clough Glen Este Williams ville Wyebold Judy RumkeSycamore and others.
Chilo Ohio reports the first in a planned demolition sequence at old Lock and Dam 34. A 40 by 20 foot powerhouse atop the lock wall was destroyed as the Ohio River pool will flood with the Capt Anthony Meldahl dam in operation.
