Kendall Hulet

CEO

Kendall Hulet is the CEO of Storied, where he leads an incredible team dedicated to helping people from around the world connect, discover, and reminisce about the moments that matter.

Kendall’s entrepreneurial journey began when he and a friend started a software company at the ripe old age of 14, employing a team of software developers from around the country. That experience cemented his passion for software design and ultimately led to a job during and after college in product marketing at a local Utah tech startup (launched by Dallan Quass) that was ultimately acquired by Monster.com. Kendall got to enjoy the highs of the dot-com boom and inevitably experience the lows (and pink slips) of the dot-com bust soon thereafter.

After a "summer of severance" spent in New York City, Kendall returned to Utah and joined Ancestry, where he ultimately led product management and UX design as Sr. Vice President of Product Management. Over the fourteen years Kendall spent at Ancestry, he helped design Ancestry’s search engine, assisted in international expansion, led the direction of Ancestry’s mobile app, co-created Ancestry’s iconic “shaky leaf” hint system and family tree product, as well as helped to roll out key features of the AncestryDNA product. He left Ancestry to take a CEO role leading a startup in the creation and launch of an innovative new mobile web browser called Cake.

But Kendall couldn’t shake the family history bug! When the opportunity came to join Storied as CEO, he couldn’t resist. He is passionate about the power of our family stories and how they can strengthen us and bring us together.

Kendall holds an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kendall lives in Provo with his wife, Carolina, and their three kids. They love to travel and learn about new places and cultures—Kendall and Carolina made a pact when they first got married that they’d travel to at least one new country every year, so the crazy stories from their adventures continue to grow.

Brandon Camp

CMO

Brandon Camp has over 12 years in the Genealogy industry, with 9.5 years at Ancestry and 2.5 years as the CMO of Storied.

Like many, his initial interest in the category was low until reading some stories and biographies about his ancestors, and he caught “the bug.” Now, Brandon is a passionate advocate for storytelling in family history and the power it has in strengthening families and relationships.

When he’s not finding stories, he is making memories with his 8 kids and wife, Elena.

Erik Swierk

CIO

Erik Swierk is the Chief Information Officer of Storied, focusing on ways to leverage technology to connect people with their past and present. He works alongside our amazing team with various roles to bridge the gap between ideas on paper and interactive features and encourages people to honor and preserve their own or shared stories.

Erik has been part of the creation of Storied from the beginning, where he started with NewspaperArchive, serving and supporting numerous aspects of the company for almost two decades. Involved in microfilm creation to search engine tuning and beyond, he provides a broad background in preservation which he continues to keep top of mind as technology evolves and our connections to the past with it.

Erik lives in rural Iowa with his wife, Elizabeth, and their five kids, some grown and some not so grown.

Christopher Bradford

CTO

Chris Bradford brings over 20 years of experience in software development and architecture and 10 years of senior software leadership to Storied. He joined as CTO in October 2023 after 6 years as CTO in Zurich-based Coople, a digital staffing pioneer. Prior to his move to Switzerland with his wife, Lucy, and 5 of their 8 children, Chris spent about 10 years at Ancestry, where he developed a love for the power and value of family history and family stories.

Chris is passionate about using technology to help people find and create meaning and fulfillment. He also loves reading, philosophy, and the performing arts.

Laryn Brown

COO

Laryn Brown joined Storied in 2021 as head of content acquisition and operations. In the following year, the Storied team has brought hundreds of millions of family history records to light, each one carefully curated for the stories that can be unlocked inside.

Prior to Storied, Laryn worked 18 years in various roles in the commercial family history industry. He has led several teams using Artificial Intelligence to bring down the cost and improve the availability of historical records.

Working in genealogy as a profession and a hobby since the 80s, Laryn is passionate about storytelling. The threads of his own family stories include English bricklayers, Canadian homesteaders, Southern colonists, and Norwegian farmers.
