Batavia high school thinclads under Coach Bob Clousson won events at Trechter Stadium district meet led by Lynn Beck who cleared 6 ft 4 in the high jump and Don Ogletree who set a district 440 yard dash record in 51.4 seconds advancing to the state meet in Columbus. Ogletree previously ran the 440 in the Miami University Invitational.

The Clermont County Grand Jury returned 31 true bills and ignored three after examining 75 witnesses. Foreman James L. Wilson urged rehabilitation of juvenile detention and commended Sheriff Clyde Dericks and the matron for jail conditions.
