Business Back 4-H Support Across Nation in 1963

Norman C. Mindrum announced that U S business firms donated 1.25 million dollars in 1963 to support 4-H Club members. Scholarships and fellowships totaling 145 thousand dollars were awarded to 275 top youths and former 4-H members. More than 180 thousand other awards went to over 94 thousand local clubs across about 3,100 counties in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Funds, funneled through the National 4-H Service Committee in Chicago, back the Cooperative Extension Service program and various 4-H activities from bread baking to entomology.
