Growth of Cheyenne County 4-H Through The Years
County Agent Ivan Liljegren notes 500 youths in 4-H with about 40 projects as the 4-H program expands. History spans from 1926 when seven girls and 30 boys started, through county fairs, beef and pig clubs, livestock judging, and clothing contests. By 1962 trips to Washington and Citizenship Tours, plus new fair facilities, mark growing participation and ambition for 4-H youth and agricultural science.
