It Costs Less To Carpet In Long Run
A University of Nebraska specialist reports that carpeting in classrooms costs less to maintain over time than hard asphalt tile. Two studies show carpeted rooms require 34 minutes per thousand square feet daily versus 64.5 minutes for hard surface, with annual costs of 177 dollars per thousand square feet for soft flooring and 351 for asphalt. A three year to nine year projection also favors carpet for lower total costs despite higher initial expense.

Export Need For Wheat On Upgrade
Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman warns that the current export surge and price signals are not a long range fix for U S wheat issues. He notes potential exports reaching up to one billion bushels, a large carryover, and cautions farmers not to expect next year prices to stay as high. The department will support the 1964 crop but overproduction and a $1 25 support price may depress prices.

Cattle Prices Seen Unchanged in 1964 With Shifts
University of Nebraska economist Everett Peterson forecasts 1964 cattle prices will not rise above 1963 levels overall though seasonal shifts will occur. Slower late year feedlot movement reduces slaughter and boosts prices into spring while calf and feeder cattle supplies rise next fall. Miss Becker adds sleep guidance linking rest to health and sleep quality.
Individual Need For Sleep Varies
Lincoln Nebraska sleep guidance stresses that sleep is a fundamental health need greater than food. Helen Becker, UNL Extension health education specialist, notes sleep restores mind and body, supports physical fitness, and boosts disease resistance. The article links sleep quality to work, social ties, and emotional attitudes, urging complete relaxation for rest.

Price of Lambs Won’t Improve
LINCOLN Nebraskans can expect no increase in lamb prices in 1964, but should be able to get more for their wool clip than they did in 1963, according to Everett Peterson, University of Nebraska agricultural economist. Imports, limited demand, and low prices for beef and poultry will offset a decline in lamb slaughter to keep prices from rising. Sheep numbers in the U S were down to about 29 5 million head on January 1, the lowest since records have been kept. The 1963 lamb crop of 19.7 million was down 3 per cent. Still the price of lambs will not go up.
