The Consumers Public Power district last week placed a price tag of 1 974 393 dollars on Scottsbluff’s distribution system. R W Beck Associates estimated the value. City officials learned that a 10 year power contract could cut the price to 1 748 556 dollars as of Dec 31 1947. If no contract is signed the city would owe 1 974 393 dollars. The district board opposed selling the system, arguing it should remain part of a wider municipal network.
