A post restaurant building at Sioux Ordnance Depot was destroyed by a daytime fire of undetermined origin. Col. H. E. Hopping reported the loss included papers and records with the blaze discovered near post noon. Three Ridney alarms summoned city fire brigades. help aided by depot staff, with investigation to determine cause and to relocate services.

Former Peetz Man Dies At Longmont
Dr. R. G. Simpson who lived northeast of Peetz until 1944 died December 24 at Longmont Colorado. He lived in Logan County for forty years before moving to Longmont. Survived by his wife two daughters and one son Lawrence of Sidney six brothers Melvin of Denver and other relatives. He graduated from a chiropractic school in Chicago in 1923 after homesteading southeast of Sidney for more than ten years.
