Grain Hold Action Planned By NFO To Lift Prices
Cheyenne County farmers plan a membership drive for the National Farmers Organization to back a holding action aimed at raising farm commodity prices. After a Des Moines meeting with 14 local NFO members, leaders urged more members to influence grain control, with goals including a grain bank to push corn to 1.50 a bushel, wheat to 2.00, and soybeans to 3.00, while storing half of production. Dairy and meat actions were also discussed.

He cites low current prices about $1.25 a bushel in Potter, with production costs near $1.50, and says cooperation is needed as NFC actions echo the campaign to hold back crops.
