Supreme Court reverses June 14 1933 order by Secretary Wallace setting maximum charges by marketing agencies at Kansas City stockyards. President Roosevelt asks Congress to remove tax exemptions on income from all future government ends at federal state and local levels and on all government salaries. He cites judicial decisions as the source of exemptions and argues they could be eliminated by legislation.

French Premier Daladier Rejects Four Power Pact With Nazi Germany

Daladier and Foreign Minister Bonnet stated France will not join any four power European treaty including Germany. In Paris the move implied Chamberlain abandoned the plan for now as Daladier and Bonnet met in London to discuss Anglo British relations and broader European peace.

Henlein Threatens Czechs Urges Sudeten Demands

Sudeten German leader Konrad Henlein warned Prague of war if demands for revision of foreign policy toward Germany were not met. Anglo-Irish Accord Ends Tariff War Between Ireland and Britain

In London Eamon de Valera and Neville Chamberlain signed an agreement to end six years of tariff and trade conflict sparked by Ireland’s refusal to pay £25 million in English land tithes.
