Swede Plain Picnic Honors Pastor and Multiple Families

The Swede Plain Church honored its new pastor Rev Willis Patten and family with a Buckley Park picnic. Numerous local families and visitors shared meals, birthday gatherings, and social visits across Kearney, Columbus, Clarks, and Silver Creek, with several trips to Osceola and Lincoln for events and IBM schooling.

ASC Committee Election Date Nears in Polk County

The ASC county Committee in Polk County announces a mail ballot election for community ASC committees to administer price support acreage diversion and conservation programs. Voting ends August 18 1966 ballots counted publicly August 22 at Osceola office with three regular and two alternate seats per committee.

Local Social Visits Highlight Nebraska Community

Friday evening Mrs Mil and Hanquist and children of Lincoln were weekend visitors in the Robert Shostrom home. Dunlap and Naslund families attended a picnic at North Park Central City. Mrs Alvin Dahlin visited Mrs Blanche Fitz at St Francis hospital Grand Island on Thursday. Mrs Verland Widga returned Saturday from Clarkson Hospital Omaha after a week as patient. Mrs Galyn Lind of Axtell is spending the week with the Lloyd Lind family.

Annual Tractor Power And Safety Day at UN Field Laboratory

The University of Nebraska Field Laboratory hosts the NN Tractor Power and Safety Day at an 8,000 acre site on July 28. About 17,500 people attended last year. signs guide motorists to the load line area for demonstrations, tractor parade, and displays all day.
