WPA Work Totals in Nebraska Reach 23 950 for Week

Nebraska WPA administrator F. D. Felton announced 23 950 persons were at work on federal works programs in the state for the week ending February 8. The central applications bureau reported 19 377 employable family heads still out of work. Felton noted 21 627 are on WPA pay rolls with the remainder on rolls of participating federal agencies.

State to pay farmers for AAA wheat and corn-hog notes

W H Brokaw announced nearly 14 million dollars will be paid to about 34,000 wheat signers and 90,000 corn-hog signers in Nebraska after Washington wired approval to honor contracts before the AAA ruling. About 11 million goes to corn-hog signers and 3 million to wheat signers with final certificates and county control aid.
