Girl Rushed to Hospital After Bobsled Saga
Doris Nyberg daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Nyberg living three miles north of Polk was rushed three miles from their farm to the highway by a bobsled and placed in a waiting car driven by Lloyd Kroger of Polk. She underwent surgery by Dr W J Arrasmith for tumor and appendicitis and is rapidly improving at Grand Island Hospital while accompanied by her parents and Dr D H Westfall.

Capadola three year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Pete Brader fell into a stock water tank while playing Sunday. Her brother Gien rushed to pull her out before she inhaled much water. The girl, though frightened, held her breath underwater and suffered no ill effects from the cold bath.

A C Jones known as Axel died at his Polk home Tuesday after a bout with flu and pneumonia linked to exposure. He had helped motorists and shoveled snow during the epidemic period and is survived by his wife, four sons Martin, Oscar, Calmar, Carlos, and two daughters Mrs George Anderson and Mrs Harold Yohe, with many relatives and friends mourning his loss.

Former Polk resident Lind dies in Omaha stroke
Lind, 73, a former Polk resident, died at his Omaha home Sunday morning from a stroke suffered last Tuesday. He was active in real estate here about eleven years ago before moving to Omaha where he retired. He leaves his wife, two daughters Vida and Eunice of Omaha, daughter-in-law Pearl Lind of South Dakota, six brothers Henry Albert John Emil of Polk area, two sisters Anna Gabrielson Polk and H B Carleon Minnesota. Funeral services were held Tuesday at his Omaha home with Masonic rites, burial at Holdregen cemetery.
