Ohio ends helmet law for most riders July 10
Ohio lawmakers repeal the 10 year old helmet rule with a July 10 start, exempting riders 18 and older plus beginners with under a year of experience from helmet use. The change follows federal data showing deaths rose 23 percent in 22 states that dropped helmet mandates, though officials cited helmet evidence worldwide. Critics argue helmets’ value is unproved while advocates caution on eye protection and safety gear.
