Fort Wayne man fatally shot after Stones concert in Cleveland
Police investigate the robbery slaying of 21 year old Rich Schaffer and his 21 year old companion Richard Kryder from Fort Wayne. After leaving a Rolling Stones concert at Municipal Stadium they were set down on an eastside street and confronted by a gunman. Kryder fled while Schaffer wrestled with the attacker and was shot in the head and chest.

Ohio Death Penalty Struck Down by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court ruled Ohio death penalty laws unconstitutional for not allowing adequate consideration of mitigating factors. The decision affects 99 inmates on Ohio’s death row, including Wille Lee Bell and Sandra Lockett, with the Court noting only three mitigating factors were previously permitted. Western outages hit San Francisco and four western states
An outage in San Francisco left about 21 000 customers without power for nearly two hours due to a failed transformer and an exploded line. Most service was restored by 1 46 a.m. but an underground line near Fishermans Wharf remained out for about 2 600 customers. Pacific Gas and Electric attributed the city outage to equipment failure.
