Vermilion approves 700 home mixed use project
Vermilion City Council approved DBR Commercial Realty's rezoning of 300 acres along Sunnyside Road to a Planned-Use Development or PUD, enabling up to 671 detached homes plus a commercial area near Route 2. Elyria woman gets year of prison in husband shooting
Cheryl Johnson, 67, was sentenced in Lorain County Common Pleas Court to four to six years for attempted murder with nine months for weapons counts. she will serve one year under a good behavior plan and be released on judicial release after evaluation and reports. The plea avoided trial. Johnson apologized and expressed remorse while her husband expressed a wish for no imprisonment.
