Lorain commissioner candidate guilty of DUI and tests
Lorain council candidate Tony Dimacchia pleaded no contest to a DUI and was found guilty by visiting Judge John Ridge. A second charge of refusing chemical tests was merged and dismissed. Dimacchia received 180 days in jail with 3 days suspended, a $600 fine, license suspension for one year, and ignition interlock installation. The incident occurred April 2 after a minor crash near West Erie Avenue and Kolbe Road.
