Story of tuberculosis Christmas seal and piano dedication at Clare
The article recalls the 1903 Copenhagen postal clerk Einar Holboell idea that each Christmas letter carry a penny stamp to fund child hospitals, leading to the Christmas seal movement popularized in America by Emily Bissell and Leigh Hodges. It also covers Clare High School's December 10 dedication of a grand piano, with performances by students and choruses, raising about $174 including a $60 gift from the Elementary Chorus.
