Judge Ray Hart Sentences Two to State Prison
Midland judge Ray Hart sentenced Bernard Trowski on a manslaughter charge to six months to five years in Jackson Prison and Duane Dehoff to six months to five years for larceny. Dehoff pled guilty in justice court to stealing a rim tire and tube from William Hileman’s car during a Halloween party. Sheriff Amble escorted both felons to Jackson. Kenneth Blackledge received ninety days probation and $3.35 costs after a disorderly charge hearings in Clare.

Mrs. Carrier transfers the Clare Greyhound Bus Lines terminal to the east section of the Mater Building on East Fourth Street. Piano Dedicated At Clare School Monday Evening
The Clare Public School unveiled a new baby grand piano funded by a variety of local activities. Donations from the Minstrel Show, PTA, Elementary Chorus, and a paper sale plus an evening offering reduced the debt, with the piano costing 850 dollars and a remaining balance of 387.67 dollars. Patton Seriously Hurt In German Highway Crash
General George S. Patton Jr. remained in critical condition in a Heidelberg hospital after a crash near Bad Nauheim Germany. He suffered a neck fracture and cervical dislocation causing paralysis of the legs when an Army truck allegedly turned into the autobahn and struck Patton's sedan on Sunday.

Thief shattered the plate glass at Girl & White Jewelry about 3 am last Friday and took a large quantity of jewelry including diamond rings birthstone rings watches and necklaces. The robbers did not enter the store and valuables were left behind. Laurence Jackson discovered the break at 8 am and alerted George White. state police were summoned. The building was under scaffold remodeling for Dr J G White's optometry rooms. a scaffold material may have been used to break the window. Insurance partially covers the loss.

Curtis Hearns and Family Escape Injury in Two Vehicle Crash
A car driven by John F. Morley of the State Highway Department struck Louise Frantz’s truck on US 27 near Rosebush as Frantz began a left turn. Morley sustained a fractured right leg and was treated at Community Hospital. Later, Alex Lackie hit Curtis Hearns on US 10 east of US 27. Lackie faced a summons for failure to stop. Hearns and his wife and daughter Barbara escaped injuries as both cars suffered heavy damage. State Police investigated both crashes.
