Two Weeks Revival Planned by Free Will Baptist Church

The board of deacons and Pastor Rev. I. J. Black Welder begin a two week revival for the fourth Sunday in April. Services will be in a tent to reach non members. Walter Johnson will lead singing.

Bryan High Team Wins Stock Judging Title at Exposition

The Stephen F. Austin high school team from Bryan won first place in beef judging and earned a Brahma bull calf at the South Texas Exposition and Fat Stock Show in Houston. Coached by Cyril Luker the team included Melvin Dansby Harvey D. Watson and Jack Gregg.

Hoard of Money Stolen From Brazos County Farmer

Frank Lero, a farmer living six miles from Bryan on Sandy Point road, reported $460 in twenty three $20 bills missing from a small underbed safe. He had stored $721 total, with $160 in twenty dollar bills returned after tax payments before the theft. Only torn corners remained from a single bill.

Grimes County Convict Granted Conditional Pardon

Governor Miriam A. Ferguson authorized a conditional pardon for George Lewis of Grimes County who was convicted of criminal assault and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary in April 1931. A general parole was granted for Frank Handley of Washington and Lee counties, convicted of forgery and sentenced to three years in October 1931.
