Midnight treasure seeker roams Maine hills for Captain Kidd gold

J C Rogerson and a mysterious colored woman prowl East Milton rooms at night seeking buried riches. Rogerson claims visions of Captain Kidd's gold and that only spiritually inspired people can see the treasures. He uses divining rods and digs only at night, believing a million dollars lies beneath Granite avenue land. his silent partner has left, and he plans to continue at the next full moon.

Four Claimants for Medford Silver Treasure Found

Medford residents rush to the site where three boys Roswell Cadigan Kenneth Cadigan and John Taylor found over 300 dollars in rare silver coins. Claimants include landowner William P Rice of Somerville and tenant William Ramsdell who asserts possession rights and denounces trespass. The boys' group, six members of the Bryan club, hid the treasure at home while authorities sort legal claims and potential treasure trove shares.

SWITCH OPEN TRAIN RAN INTO BACK YARD NEAR MCCARTHY

Rockland, Nov 16. A Rockland Hanover passenger train derailed into T D McCarthy’s yard after an open switch. No passengers were hurt. engineer Joseph Stewart and fireman J A Dow escaped with minor injuries. Brakeman William Sylvester and express messenger Howard Tower were lightly hurt. Conductor Charles Collamore reported the switch opened under the engine. wrecking crew cleared the line by daylight.

Cigarettes Blamed For Roxbury Boy Bandits

Police Captain Wyman blames cigarette use for a Roxbury crime wave as 18 to 21 year old youths are arrested for burglaries. Names include Arthur Whitely 13, John Dale 17, Charles Harding 21, John Moran 20, John Phelan 16, M. D. Dow 17, John Foley 18, Joseph McArthur 19, John Doherty 19 with patrolmen pursuing three suspects after a break in on Gurney Street.
