Dissolution of Pastor Scott at Congress Church
An acqounned meeting of the presbytery of Worcester was held at the First Presbyterian Church. The main business was dissolving the pastoral relations of Dr Alexander Scott with Congress Church after thirteen years. Due to age and infirmity he requested release and his resignation was accepted with goodwill. Dr Scott has served about 60 years and is reputed the oldest active Presbyterian pastor in the United States. A call from Loudsville to Rev Danley of Mansfield was accepted as pastor elect. The presbytery acted favorably on the Mt Eaton church matter. discussions included some exceptions by the pastor, but the differences are believed settled.
