Cliff House Devastated By Blaze At San Francisco
San Francisco Sept 9 The Cliff house once San Francisco’s top tourist draw was burned to the ground. Flames lapped through the wooden structure amid ocean winds as fire crews arrived late. The building, valued at about 60 000 dollars, stood on a rocky promontory above the Pacific and Sea rocks, drawing hundreds of thousands for first Pacific views. John Tait had closed it for remodeling when the fire began. The cause remains a mystery. this is the second Cliff house to burn in history.
