Barley Handling Plan Condemned at Jamestown Meeting
Jamestown North Dakota March 20 representatives of the state rail commission told the North Dakota Independent Elevators association that complaints under the states anti discrimination law in wheat buying are down. The convention re elected P A Lee Pekin as president and S W Ankenholz as secretary. The ABA association took a neutral line between Equity Co operative exchange and the Minneapolis chamber of commerce. Condemnation of barley handling was voted with the remark that if barley terminals persist there is little use growing barley beyond hog feed. R Miller of the agriculture department noted ongoing work on standards for verclin grains to be extended and federal inspection approved. A curious aside notes a bee lays 2000 to 3000 eggs daily and a joke about crossing a queen bee with a hen for wealth.
