New Sensation in Cooper Case Emerges in Hearing
Salem Ore March 27 An alleged confession used to press for McLain Cooper’s return to North Dakota was not by Cooper but by W H McGruder. McGruder testified he pretended to be Cooper at the Imperial hotel Jan 24 following instructions from J A Sullivan to trap Cooper in a jury bribery scheme. Sullivan denied the charge and said he aided authorities to correct a wrong in the Cooper trial.

London March 30 Colonel John Seely secretary of war resigned his portfolio and his resignation was accepted by the premier. Asquith decided to take the secretariat of war in Seelys place. Sir John Urquhart chief of imperial general staff and Sir John Ewart adjutant general of forces have resigned from the service. The premier announced he would retire from the house of commons until his constituents sanction his return. He dramatic ally walked from the chamber amid cheering.

The Williston Water Users Association held a Monday meeting at the courthouse to plan compliance with government terms for this irrigation season. Former Pastor David Y Moore Dies in Florida
Word has been received of the death of Rev. David Y Moore, former pastor of the Williston Congregational church 1889 1890 and pastor of St Petersburg since 1912. Born in Armenia 42 years ago he studied at Williams College Yale Divinity School and served churches in Ridgeville Odell and Glenwood before moving to St Petersburg. He was married to Lena Whitford and leaves a widow and a four year old daughter Pauline.
