City reshapes Willard with hospital abatement and lot plans
The Willard front page reports a hospital transfer abatement mostly complete with minimal costs. Power to the building was cut by AEP and equipment removed. Officials expect the building to be down by Thanksgiving and cleanup finished by year end. The site will be graded for usable lots, with spring plans to return. The former City Hall and Middle School are also slated for demolition to make way for new construction by 2015. City leaders stress change as growth and progress, not preservation.
