Willard native trains K nine dogs for Navy SEALS

Eric Rose, longtime Madison Township Police Department officer in Columbus, and his K nine JT have retired together after an unexpected offer to join a small group in Virginia Beach. Rose will train dogs used by the Navy SEALS, fulfilling a lifelong dream he says began in childhood.

Willard marked Harvest Fest with multiple downtown activities. Anna Wynans selected pumpkins for Halloween as part of the celebration. The Willard Memorial Library hosted events while a library ride offered by Bus Driver Charlotte Cunningham gave attendees a tour. The Downtown Business Association sponsored the event.

South Central foresees deficit as enrollment drains budget

South Central treasurer Beth Lykins presented a five year forecast showing 2014 revenue of 7,950953 and expenditures of 8,169,390. She cites enrollment declines as a key funding factor, noting 815 students this year and projects 826 next year with kindergarten growth, but forecasts 799 by 2018. Superintendent Brand adds outmigration to neighboring states, not open enrollment, as the bigger issue.
