Teen Trends SEEK Eye contact lenses for teens rise in use
A survey of 1,300 girls aged 13 to 19 shows contact lens wearers use lenses about 5.7 hours longer daily and 94 percent wear them daily. Six in ten girls use some vision correction, with nearly half opting for lenses. Reasons include appearance and avoiding the bother of glasses, though many still wear eyeglasses. The study, funded by Bausch & Lomb, compares with a 16 month prior survey showing a 19.6 percent rise in corrective wear.
