Hoosick Falls Dress Shop Owner Objects To Petition
Hoosick Falls residents signed a 45 name petition asking the village board to bar the former Classic Dress Shop from becoming a bar. Owner Jean Fowler accused organizers of acting on hearsay and not consulting her. The building at Water and Superior Streets is for sale as an industrial site via Jerome E. Wright real estate agents. Fowler considers two possible uses a restaurant or business and says sale would be harmed if alcohol is allowed. The board sent the petition to the village zoning board of appeals and locals have contacted the state liquor authority.
