Mary Feeley explains conventional loans differ from FHA and VA programs. FHA loans insure lenders with a 0.5 percent monthly insurance fee, 30 year terms, and set property standards while VA loans guarantee lenders up to 60 percent or 7300 dollars, waive down payments, and offer terms up to 40 years for farm loans. Approximately 25 percent of eligible veterans have used GI home loans.
