Community fundraiser blends music and food for area schools
SoLace owner Barb Polin hosts a Saturday event with live music from Elkton and Barbecue Bar from McGaheysville. Proceeds aid Elkton, McGaheysville, River Bend elementary students and high schools East Rockingham. Mascots and a red school bus from East Rockingham High join donations drive at SoLace and in front of the store Friday. A 15 percent store discount runs through year end for donors of $10 or more. Last year aided 353 students.

Proffers Reach Agreement on U S 33 Site Plan Standards
Proffers meet Virginia Department of Transportation standards upon site plan approval with additional right and left turn lanes on U S 33 as warranted. The proffers arose from a friendly agreement after Alfieri discussed site water use with local officials. A water flow pressure and capacity study is underway to address fire flow and supply concerns. Alfieri could not be reached for comment.
