Factories Distribute Cane Sugar To Employees At Cost

John W Derthick a longtime Rittman leader since 1884 was buried in Wadsworth cemetery after a Milton Presbyterian church service on March 27. The funeral at 1:30 featured Rev Black from Wooster, a floral tribute array, pallbearers W Loover J D Gish J Smith RY Prodrick Frank Smith and William Burbage, and a quartette. He was active in Rittman business, council member since 1919, director at Rittman Savings Bank and member of Knights of Pythias and Masonic orders.

Obituary for John Wm Derthivek of Rittman and Wooster
John Wm Derthivek, born April 18 1860 near Orrville, died March 24 1920 in Wooster aged 59 years 11 months 6 days. He married Elva Martin January 2 1883 and lived much of his life in Rittman. He served on the village council and in the local bank, was a longtime Ohio Salt Co employee, and a member of Knights of Pythias and Masonic Fraternity. He leaves Elva, two sisters Mia Houte and Mrs Hoagland, two brothers Will and Frank Derthick, and many relatives.
