Telephone scams warn of fraud during Consumer Protection Week
Postmaster Frank Milesky of Harrison Ohio warns during Postal Consumer Protection Week April 22 28 that con artists use telephone lines to lure gullible Americans into mail fraud schemes. Reports describe a $17 million scheme in Fort Worth involving Garland Film Buyers and a 99 year sentence for Peggy E Stines, plus other cases in San Diego Covington Cleveland Dallas and Las Vegas. Envelopes stuffed at home remain a dated scam with little profit and no real market for such work.
