Wilbur Shefstall three-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Lee Shefstall living three miles southwest of Daykin had his left leg fully severed between knee and ankle by a mowing machine Saturday. His father mowing cane did not notice until he heard the child cry. The limb was dressed by Dr H H Humphrey of Daykin who believes the child will recover.

Miss Phyliss Patton and Miss Eileen Means, nursing students in Beatrice, spent Sunday with Phyliss Patton’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Patton. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Grabber attended the funeral of his sister Mrs. Frank Fasnacht and returned to Hemminsford Nebraska after a Lincoln transfer. Four mile north and four east of Diller, Maxine Evans, eight and a half, was struck on the head by a pump handle while her mother pumped water. The injury produced a large abscess that was lanced and drained last Thursday and doctors expect no further trouble.
