Examinations for motor vehicle operators will be conducted from January 1 to June 30 1944 with patrol examiners visiting county seats on the same relative day each month. Examinations follow normal courthouse hours and are not held on Sundays or holidays. Jefferson County hosts on the 3rd Wednesday evening and Gage County on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evening.
The Ladies Quartet of the Congregational Church hosted a semi annual birthday dinner at Mrs. Eva Green's home on Sunday December 12. Seated for ten, the table featured flowers from Mrs. Steffen and the florals were later shared by Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Cully. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Willis Clark and Carolyn, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cully, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Steffen and Richard, Mrs. Eva Green and guest Mrs. Fouts who enjoyed discussions both biblical and otherwise.
The Kensington Congregational church group met December 9 at Mrs Clarence Steffen's country home. Snow began in the afternoon. a strong membership attended with Mrs Emil Krebs and Mrs Will Bernhardt as guests. Mrs Renz led devotionals and Mrs Long presided over business, with a letter from Mrs Findling read by Mrs Eva Green. Refreshments were served by several hosts and Santa gave gifts to each lady and to Tommy McKenzie. the afternoon was enjoyed.
