Diller teams triumph in home court battles over Steele City

Diller first team beat Steele City Regulars 326 in a hard fought home game before a fair sized crowd as W. Stephans scored 12. Baker and Schmuelle held Steele City forwards scoreless until late in Q4. Fourteen played. Reserves defeated Steele City Seconds 29 to 1 led by Garrels with 7. Twenty-one boys saw action. Also: Scott A. Miller underwent emergency operation for a punctured ulcer at Harold Lynch hospital after a sudden illness on Tuesday morning.

Verne Hubka Receives Navy V12 Selection

Verne Hubka of Lincoln visited his parents in Diller on Tuesday and reported at the Gage County board as volunteering for naval service. He is among eighty one who passed the V12 selection out of about twelve hundred applicants.

Funeral Services For Mrs Anna Folkert Fanders

Funeral services for Mrs Anna Folkert Folkerts a pioneer of the Diler vicinity will be held Saturday at 2 PM from Wagggoner's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lan ham Cemetery. Mrs Folkerts died Wednesday December 1 after a stroke on November 13 and long illness. Her obituary will be printed next week.
