The J N C met April 15 at Mrs M C Bower's home with eleven members and eight children. Guests included Mrs M Speelmeyer, Mrs Roy Mathias, Mrs Brandt, Mrs Chas Hilder, and Miss Ethel Hiatt. A luncheon followed a brief business session with social embroidery before an April shower sent guests home. Mrs Clarence Hiatt to entertain May 6.
A very pleasant meeting of the club at the home of Mrs Charles Waggoner on Wednesday afternoon April 15 included thirteen members with Mrs Cal Waggoner Miss Carrie Lynn and Lelia Robertson as guests. A short business session led by president Mrs Cavett reviewed communications and discussed shifting the club calendar from October 1 to July 1.
Beatrice Power Company, a Central States Edison subsidiary, announces a 7 percent preferred stock issue for employees and customers. Manager R R Thomas says the plan shares earnings with those connected to the business, with $10 000 per share or monthly installments of 10 dollars, and a 6 percent interest on each installment. Funds will strengthen the company’s cash position and finance plant expansions.
Bob Beckwith of Carelton visited his parents J and Mrs H H Beckwith on Sunday. Miss Grayce Myers and Mrs A A Bick spent a few hours with Fairbury relatives Saturday. Clinton Sandman from near Harbine spent the weekend with his grandparents Mr and Mrs Lon Snyder.
