Single Wool Fiber Can Be Extended 70 Per Cent
Wool fibers are extremely elastic and can stretch up to 70 percent of their original length when wet and stretched slowly, then return to their former size without breaking. A 90s quality fiber is ultra light, about one two-thousandth of an inch in diameter and six inches long weighs under a millionth of an ounce. If a mile of 90s fibers were laid end to end it would weigh about one hundredth of an ounce. Wool's low heat conductivity helps retain body warmth, even when damp, making it a superior insulator compared with cotton.
