Long term traffic plan eyed for Glen Este area
A county official endorses widening the north side of Glen Este-Williamsville Road and adding a westward service road to Eastgate Boulevard to ease future development and travel. A Jackson Lake obstacle may block the full Eastgate linkage, while a service concept faces opposition to traffic lights. A meeting will follow Central recommendations with Tipton and Associates, Union Township, and the county engineer’s office attending.

Lockard Sentenced to Up to Nine Years for Manslaughter
Kevin Thomas Lockard, 19, of Anderson Township, was sentenced Sept. 20 to a prison term up to nine years for voluntary manslaughter in the death of former jockey Ovidio Diaz, age 48, at Big A's Tavern. The jury found no premeditation though Diaz did not recover after the Jan. 8 beating.
