Clermont County dog license scare prompts‎ warnings

Margie Hamilton of the Clermont County Animal Shelter urges residents to ignore letters from Hamilton County claiming a $100 fine for dog tag renewals. The erroneous mailings affected Batavia and Goshen areas and other Cincinnati zip codes, with many recipients never in Hamilton County or owning dogs.

Felony cases rise in 1985 report by Pattison

Batavia prosecutors report 379 felonies carried to completion for the year ending Sept 1 1985 a 6.46 percent rise from 356 in 1984. Arson figures drew special attention with nine arsons and 21 arsons or suspicious fires total. Of other crimes the list includes 29 homicides and assaults 39 sex offenses 92 robberies and burglaries 268 thefts six offenses against the public peace six crimes against the family 13 offenses against justice and public administration 36 conspiracy attempts and 217 drug offenses. Fines paid jumped to 7145.95 from 500 the prior year.

Distributor limits adult magazines in Clermont County stores

Batavia officials report that after last Friday only the Hamilton County Seven adult magazines remain in Clermont County shops. Marshall News, the Tri-State distributor, will stop delivering a dozen titles after Sept. 27, leaving Playboy Penthouse Oui Playgirl Forum Gallery and Genesis. Prosecutor Pattison says police will verify compliance and notes continued complaints against Video Barn in Williamsville. Vicki Emerson faces county court on Jan. 13 for pandering obscenity after renting two tapes to a Union Township officer on July 31.

Luck sues Bethelman over 1984 crash that saved son

Nancy Luck recalls the morning of November 30, 1984, when her 16 year old son Patrick Luck survived a serious car crash while driving a friend to Bethel Tate High School. A policeman who arrived quickly inserted a breathing tube to save Patrick. The passenger suffered severe injuries, including a lost spleen.
