The Batavia deputy registrar’s office at 265 Second Ave will close Monday September 28 to relocate to 165 Main St in the front section. Deputy registrar Charles E Miller said reopening will be Tuesday in the larger space. Hours will be 9 to 5 weekdays and 9 to noon Saturdays with off street parking nearby. Jeff Wyler Chevrolet formerly occupied the building and the car cleaning service will continue.
Larger pumps will be installed at East Clough lift station to enable CIP Corporation and other landowners in Bach-Buxton Union Township to proceed with development. OEPA denied CIP a sewer extension permit for a 29 acre tract while Clermont County Water and Sewer District awaits county lift station upgrades. Replacements will raise capacity from 500 to 1,100 gallons per minute, with new controls installed in weeks to satisfy permit conditions.
