Final GOP Rally Set at Amelia School This Saturday

The closing all county Republican rally will be at the Amelia school house Saturday at 7 30 p m with Dusty Miller a prominent Ohio newspaperman as principal speaker. The Amelia band will perform and county candidates will attend. Women workers meet Thursday at county GOP HQ and the Young Republican Club hosts a Washington Township rally at Pt Isabel Thursday night.

Hamilton longtime Batavia resident dies after church

Thos L Hamilton aged 70 a Batavia resident died Sunday at noon after returning from church. He was son of the late Harvey Hamilton who ran the Hamilton Hotel in pioneer days. Survived by two sisters Mrs Ida Griffith and Mrs Max Moore and son Kirk Hamilton assistant manager at Liggett Drug Co Cincinnati. Funeral Wednesday afternoon.

Woman Killed on Bantam Pike by Local Man

Mrs. William Badgley, 65, died Sunday night after being struck on the Bantam pike by Fondus Smith of St. Bernard. Smith, returning from Brown County, was nearby. Dr. H. E. Cover treated the scene. Coroner Sam M. White and Sheriff Auxier investigated. no arrest was made.

P T A Amelia will host a meeting Monday November 6 at 8 PM in the Amelia School Auditorium. Moscow P T A sponsors Aladdin at the school auditorium Friday evening November 2 directed by Elsa Kennedy. Corn Huskers Shine In Clermont County Corn Contests

Batavia residents Mirl Snider and William Snyder won county titles in the second annual stand ing and shock corn contests at Walter Cowdrey farm near Williamsburg. Snider totaled 822 lbs husked in an hour, with McKibben second and Foster and Rice next. in shock, Snyder led with 461 lbs, followed by Woodrow Snyder and Heckathorn. Weights include deductions for corn left on stalks and husks penalties.
