Commissioners OK water supply line for O Bannon plant
Commissioners authorized Santoro Engineering to prepare plans and bid documents for a 10,700 foot 4 inch water line to the O Bannon Creek Treatment plant at an estimated 142000 dollars. Oversizing to 12 or 8 inches would add 113000 dollars. Reckers urged bidding on minimum and recommended size to apportion costs between county sewer and water departments. The plant requires potable water for safe operation and design work will take about 30 days with construction to start once authorized. Reckers noted more work is needed to reinforce the system to meet legal minimum service. Hartman Lane may be declared a public road per the 12th District Court of Appeals ruling.
