Best Ration One That Has Variety
Variety may be essential to life and protein quality matters as much as quantity. Potatoes: seed spacing and spraying guidance from 20 years of tests
The guidance advises using 1 ounce seed pieces spaced about 11 inches apart, planting at modest distances to control costs. Treat seed potatoes infected with scab or rhizoctonia. Largest yields come when fertilizer is 2 to 3 inches from the seed and on the same or slightly lower plane. Cultivate deeply early, then avoid roots. closer, deep cultivation later harms yields. Begin Bordeaux spray when plants reach six to eight inches and repeat every 7 to 10 days. Twenty years of American Agriculturist tests support spraying as desirable.
