Personal Taxes At May Settlement Delays Noted
The May settlement shows personal taxes totaling 49367.94 with 23893.18 on intangible property 13984.95 on other personal property and 11489.81 on personal delinquent. The latter two amounts will be paid now while intangible tax awaits Auditor of State order. The 13984.95 equals at least 80 percent of the total personal property tax and may leave little for October distribution. The 23893.18 likely covers about 60 percent of the intangible total. schools and villages expect about 56000 from the 1930 duplicate, contingent on state surplus from other counties to cover the losses. A note points out nearly half of the distributed personal tax is delinquent collected since August 1931.

Lowell Keyer Pleads Guilty in Election Day Robbery Case
Lowell Keyer confessed to participating in a store robbery at Loveland during the 1930 election day. Judge White sentenced him to 10 to 25 years in the pen after the plea of guilty. Three accomplices were also involved in the incident.

Mayor Wreck Near Town Hall in New Richmond Crash
Mayor of New Richmond Ria Schmidt and his wife suffered minor injuries after a collision with Chester Clark Avery Redman and Ralph Paden near the town hall. Redman and Clark were arrested, Paden detained as a material witness, and a gallon of liquor found in the car. Redman fined $250 and costs for liquor possession.

The Telephone Company undertakes an extensive 1931 32 rebuilding program in Clermont county to place outside equipment in better condition. Over 4 500 new poles and about 380 miles of wire will be installed with 29 percent due to highway improvements. The Loveland lines gain 24 500 feet of aerial cable. The county system serves 4 458 telephones with 73 staff, supporting steady employment and improved service.

Tragic Death Of 6 Year Old Near Newtonsville
LeRoy Doughman aged 6 died after being struck by a car in the family yard on Sunday morning May 15. The accident occurred when the boy darted into the path of the vehicle as he tried to save his wagon. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the M E church in Newtonsville with burial at Edenton cemetery.
