The Owensville board accepted the resignation of CNE principal Henry by a 4 1 vote with President Paul opposing. Henry completes his first year in the post and five administrators were given one year contract renewals.
Zimmer plant opponent Lew Seiler of New Richmond urged CG&E stockholders at the Cincinnati meeting to delay the licensing hearing for a year to allow a full assessment of the Three Mile Island incident. He proposed converting Zimmer to coal or abandoning it while supporters noted different reactor designs and ongoing preparations.
Larry Wayne Strunk 23 of 7 Montgomery Way was charged with attempted armed robbery after an Erlanger U Totem Store incident Monday afternoon. He allegedly demanded $50 from Manager Virginia Hamm. she sprayed ink, he fled, and was captured minutes later near Cherry Tree Lane. In a separate report, Debra Kay Lemar 18 sustained minor injuries and Brown 22 died in a Route 743 crash.
Union Township Trustees unanimously adopted zoning case 1-79-7 to amend the 1959 zoning resolution with County Prosecutor suggested changes. They moved to forward an 18 road list to County Engineer Walter Carter and plan resurfacing of Mt. Moriah Cemetery streets and a new township hall parking lot. A new employee policies manual was adopted and county resolutions permanently vacating parts of Rumpke and Romohr Roads were noted. Next meeting is May 8 at 7 p.m.
Clarence Edward Allman born February 4 1885 died April 22 1979 at age 94 years 2 months 18 days. Son of John W and Adeline Kelley Allman. He leaves sister Ruby Allman Aulen of Batavia and brother Robert L Allman.
Matthew Henry Storch, 64, of 3591 Lewis Road Amelia, was found guilty and given a ten day suspended sentence by County Court Judge Hugh L Nichols on April 24. He must pay court costs and attend shoplifting counseling at Clermont Mental Health Center Batavia. Storch was arrested.
The Clermont Northeastern Board of Education will hold a special meeting on May 3 at Owensville Primary School to interview treasurer applicants. The session will also consider awarding the sale of notes to the lowest bidder for the bond issue.
