Industrial donations support a 175 acre ranch facility on U S 50 with a $400 000 multi purpose building to house classrooms a kitchen and shop for job skills training. Only 290000 has been raised to date and 36 residents may use the facility.
Milford resident Wyler receives the Pacesetter honor for 1984 in a county ceremony noting his entrepreneurial and public service. He will be feted at a March 30 dinner at Holiday Inn Eastgate, 30-dollar plate with 6:30 cocktail hour. reservations at 831-0872. Wyler owns Ohio 32 Chevrolet dealership, now largest outlet in Greater Cincinnati and top 200 nationwide.
BATAVIA Workers in Clinton County water and sewer district and the human services department plan a strikes at 12:01 a.m. March 26 unless negotiations resume. Assistant county administrator Michael Potts confirmed receipt of strike notices and willingness to bargain. Union stewards say they have heard nothing from the county.
Jackson Township recruits volunteers to staff a new fire department with a 36 hour course funded by the township. Chief candidate Mike Fetter, a 18 year Owenville veteran, seeks 20 to 26 men for shifts at a 13,695 dollar metal pole barn on U.S. 50 near Ohio 183 and Aber Road.
Robert True, Union Township attorney, named to fill the unexpired term of the late William Brasselton on the Clermont County Planning Commission. The vacancy, filled by county commissioners last week, runs to May 5, 1986, with Brasselton having served since May 7, 1971. The commission includes eight citizens serving three year terms.
This third installment highlights Samuel Medary a Pennsylvanian who became governor of Minnesota Territory in 1857 1858 and helped frame the Minnesota Constitution. Appointed by Buchanan to Kansas Territory Medary faced Bleeding Kansas amid Free Soil and pro slavery violence as prewar North South tensions ran high.
A Bethel resident placed an ad in the Cincinnati Suburban Press Suburban Classified to advertise a gas stove with a double oven. The ad drew many calls and promised results, with contact numbers 681-8818 and 528-1111 542-9474 listed in the notices.
