Williamsburg man charged again in van arson case

William L. Dumford, 31, already indicted on three arsons, faces a new charge from Union Township Detective Jerry Huffner after a van fire Friday night outside Frank & Jamie's Tavern in Glen Este. A witness saw a man leaving the van as it burned. Dumford was not in custody Monday.

Union police seek burglary suspect in Summer side case

Union Township police hunt a second suspect in a March 21 aggravated burglary and attempted rape in Summer side. A 20-year-old Charwood Drive man was arrested and charged Saturday. The victim, a 20-year-old mother with a nine week old baby, heard her dog barking and opened the door when confronted by two white men. one knife was turned toward her throat.

Searchers recover bomb and stolen car in county raid

A 22 year old New Richmond man faced charges of receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance after a search warrant on March 21 by sheriff John Van Camp. Detectives recovered a pipe bomb blasting cap and two stolen vehicles in Clermont County, later found at a Bethel relative's home as authorities planned to strip them for sale.

Policeman Sues Over Injuries From Domestic Disturbance

Robert L. Stout, a Bethel police officer in Pierce Township, sues Anthony Wayne Dryden in Clermont County Common Pleas Court claiming Dryden attacked him at Calvert Court apartments during a domestic disturbance. Stout says Dryden shoved and kicked him causing a sprained left hand, bruises, and swelling. He seeks 3500 dollars plus 2500 in damages to be decided by a jury.

April hearings set for road closings in two Clermont areas

Clermont County commissioners set hearings and viewing times for roadway closings in two unincorporated communities. On April 23 they will view an unnamed alley in Miamiville at 1 30 p m and hold a hearing at 3 30 p m. On April 30 they visit Woodville to inspect Walnut Street and two unnamed alleys with a 3 30 p m hearing.
