Tax abatement rulings await policy board recommendations
Leon L. Wolf of Smith & Schnacke criticized delays as the Clermont Tax Abatement Policy Board had not yet received its recommendations last Thursday. The board on May 31 disapproved 100 percent 15 year abatements for Eastgate Mall and Eastgate South, covering 160 acres, and 110 acres at SR 32 and 1275. Donald Glass sought abatement for property on Half Acre Road for a new Frisch’s restaurant.

Armed gunman robs medicine shop on busy highway
A lone gunman robbed The Medicine Shop at 931 SR 28 on Wednesday afternoon last week. About $70 in cash and some drugs were taken, according to Miami Township Police.
