The Lucky Lawrences of Yerba Buena and Their Legacy
The Lawrence family sails from Boston in 1849 to California and Yerba Buena. Philip and Abigail establish the Abby Baldwin and settle on a Santa Clara rancho, facing hardship, gold fever, and a growing fortune. Their daughter Fanny Lucy adds to a lineage rich in ambition, poetry, and decline as the House of Lawrence fades into history.
